Graphic Imagery Adds Bookmaking Equipment as Complement to HP Indigo 5500 Digital Press
Friday 03. July 2009 - New Equipment Allows Graphic Imagery to Make Hard Cover (Hardback) and Soft Cover Books Such as Photo Albums, Catalogs, Manuals and Brochures
Graphic Imagery, Inc., an award-winning printing business in the San Francisco Bay Area, today announced it has invested in new bookmaking systems for its bindery department, enabling the company to produce hard cover (hardback) and soft cover books, and offer perfect book binding and wire-o binding services. The company expects the bookmaking equipment to complement its new HP Indigo 5500 digital press.
Graphic Imagery has invested in a Fastbind Elite book production system, which enables it to quickly produce personalized, perfect bound hard cover (or casebound) and soft cover books such as photo albums, manuals, yearbooks, catalogs, reports, proposals and brochures. In addition, Graphic Imagery’s new Rhinotuff wire-o binding system allows Graphic Imagery to produce books that are bound with wire bindings, open flat on desks, and allow for 360-degree rotation of bound pages.
Earlier this year, Graphic Imagery purchased a new HP Indigo 5500 digital printing press to add to its stable of Heidelberg lithographic presses and letterpress. The new digital press allows Graphic Imagery to produce quality digitally printed material with fast turnaround times, and take care of short-run (or even single run) and variable-data printing projects. Many such projects are ultimately turned into books.
“We are experiencing an increase in demand for bookmaking from new and existing clients, and we expect the level of interest to continue to increase,” said Stuart Imison, president of Graphic Imagery. “We are looking to stay ahead of the curve as far as customer needs are concerned, and we believe these investments in bookmaking equipment will allow us to better serve our clients.”
