Nr1 Adressa-Trykk Orkanger Holds Grand Opening

TENSOR Pressline at NR1 ADRESSA-TRYKK ORKANGER

Monday 02. March 2009 - Tensor 12 Tower Press is Main Performer at Ceremony

The eagerly anticipated grand opening celebration of Nr1 Adressa-Trykk’s extraordinary new press facility was held on February 11 in Orkanger, Norway. TENSOR GROUP’S highly automated 12 tower, 2 folder single-wide T-400 press was the main stage performer during the day’s ceremonies which included a demonstration of the press, building tour and dinner for approximately 100 people.

TENSOR was represented at the opening event by Anna Hozjan, chief financial officer, and Martina Hozjan, vice-president. “The facility is unbelievably impressive, from the immense pressroom through to the mailroom,” stated Martina. “Newspaper and commercial production is exceedingly well-managed with the incredible emphasis on automation purposely built into the operations.”

The TENSOR T-400 press at Nr1 Adressa-Trykk’s centrally located Orkanger facility will produce over 20 different newspaper titles and a vast number of coldset commercial products for distribution throughout mid-Norway. This pressline configuration allows for printing 96 tabloid pages of 4 color at 35,000 iph and 64 pages at 40,000 iph. The DCOS production management system logs the performance, maintenance and production data of each product run and assists in scheduling the constantly varying jobs.

The fully-loaded, highly automated footprint shaftless press is anchored by 2 TENSOR H-50 HD folders, each of which is capable of handling 12 webs with the help of independently driven RTF’s. Shaftless commercial quarter folders accompany each folder. The primary folder is equipped with an upper former for sectioned tabloid newspaper production. Each of the three steep angle formers on the press has motorized tabloid slitters and shaftless stitchers for both newspaper and commercial products. A gluing system is installed on the main folder.

The units sport spray dampeners, motorized ink fountain rollers and EPG remote inking with pre-setting for convenient, precise ink management. The Technotrans pumped ink supply system and ink levelers keep the ink flowing with minimal disruption of print runs. Press maintenance time is reduced dramatically with a PDM TwinTurbo©Web Cleaning System and a vacuum dust collection system.

The press also is well-equipped with DCOS color-to-color and cutoff controls for all 12 webs. These register guidance controls, along with the majority of the main auxiliary systems, are controlled from the four press control consoles.

TENSOR shaftless infeeds control the webs fed from the 12 automatic flying pasters situated at right angles to the pressline. The turnbars are located under the 4-high towers.
