ISOCURE LAUNCH MAKES INVESTMENT IN UV ENERGY SAVINGS FROM GEW A REALITY
Monday 02. March 2009 - GEW will use Grafitalia and Converflex to launch IsoCure a new energy saving system for curing UV inks and coatings in sheet-fed and web offset printing, silicone coating and food packaging applications.
Whilst UV has traditionally been considered a “green” technology, the company says its has gone a step further by replacing conventional power supplies with its energy efficient electronic e-Brick system. Comparable benefits include a 30% reduction in electricity costs and reduced carbon emissions making investment in energy savings a reality.
IsoCure is supplied with e-Brick technology as standard on new presses or as an upgrade to make existing machines more efficient and productive. It is a fully-water cooled UV curing system designed for medium and wide formats in arc lengths from 50cm (20″) up to two metres (78.75″). Optimised for high performance UV curing of inks, varnishes, coatings, silicone release and hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesives the system can also be supplied with GEWs inert atmosphere technology for higher operating speeds and applications such as food packaging where there is a need to displace oxygen from the curing zone.
