Wednesday 04. February 2009 - Italian company specialized in the development and the manufacture of cosmetic and medicinal natural products, Guna launches a gel using EDEN, the very last packaging solution of Airlessystems.

“Our first concern was to find a packaging which enables us to propose to medical aesthetics practitioners a ready-to-use gel administrable by electroporation, while guaranteeing the formula’s stability and integrity” says Paul-Albert Charpentier, Export Manager at Guna. Offering a differentiating design as well as an optimal ergonomics, in addition to a total protection without preservatives, EDEN was the ideal solution. Indeed, thanks to the airless piston system that permanently prevents air from entering the dispenser, the product is protected from any contamination. Thus, making the use of preservatives unnecessary. For Guna, that resulted in the removal of parabens in the formulation of its new gel, with advantages at several levels. “This airless packaging technology enables us to anticipate a future regulation prohibiting parabens and to take one step ahead on a niche market”, underlines Paul-Albert Charpentier. “It costs more than conventional solutions, however, its advantages in terms of image in particular, are much more important. For instance, the product is marketed in a higher range and the absence of conservative is more coherent with its naturalness. “

As far as ergonomics is concerned, the EDEN airless system integrates many distinctive features: a soft priming offering a remarkable comfort in use, a progressive and controlled dosage (1ml), an easy gripping owing to the small size of the bottle (50ml format, innovative for this type of product), an excellent restitution rate (+ 90%). Moreover, the transparent barrel allows the user to see that the product was entirely used.

Another notable advantage of the EDEN solution lies in its design, which authorizes a great flexibility in terms of variation with the line of products. “Our customer can use the same packaging for all his range. It is enough for him to affix on the barrel the label corresponding to each reference” explains Andrea Caretti, Sales agent in Italy for Airlessystems.

100% plastic, EDEN is adapted for all formulas (cream, gel, serum, …). It can be used on airless or atmospheric high-speed packaging lines, with easy top filling process. “The EDEN solution meets perfectly our technical specifications and costs requirements”, comments on Paul-Albert Charpentier.

After this first and successful collaboration with Airlessystems, Guna intends to go further. “Our objective is to use the Airlessystems technology to gradually eliminate preservatives from the formulation of all our creams”, he concludes.
