Océ JetStream color quality goes to Italy in brand-new deal

Océ JetStream printers help Italian communications provider Selecta ride the TransPromo growth wave

Tuesday 22. July 2008 - Océ JetStream printers help Italian communications provider Selecta ride the TransPromo growth wave

In a major drive to grow its digital color volumes and capture market leadership in Italy’s Transpromo printing segment, Italian communications service company Selecta has chosen Océ to provide the digital color printers which will drive this new phase in its business. Selecta has already acquired one Océ Jetstream 1500, which will be installed in August 2008, and placed an option for two more systems to be installed during 2009. Together, the three systems will be able to produce a total of almost 100 million A4 color pages per month in duplex mode.

Color for more effective communication
Color invoices and account statements do indeed make communication measurably more efficient and accessible – also, better speed and quality and lower operational costs are swiftly narrowing the gap between digital black & white printing and color. “Full color high-volume transaction printing has now become affordable,” explains Vice President Gruppo Selecta Nicola Muraro. “This brings color within the reach of enterprises whose budget constraints might previously have forced them to take the black & white route to communicating with their customers. We’re seeing unprecedented growth in this sector in Italy.”

Océ JetStream power
“The new expanded JetStream family is a portfolio of digital full-color printers that meet every requirement of our customers in terms of quality, speed and duty cycles,” explains Sebastian Landesberger, Océ Executive Vice President Production Printing. “With these solutions, we can help our clients transform their applications and maximize the return on their investment.” Launched last December, the Océ JetStream full-color inkjet printing system has redefined quality and productivity standards for ultra high volume full-color printing. The line-up now features five models, with output speeds ranging from 675 to 2,700 A4 impressions per minute, and easy upgradability to the system with next-higher performance.

Seamless workflow integration
Océ JetStream printers are designed for seamless integration with industry-standard workflows, as well as for the rigorous demands and data rates of high speed full-color printing. As a result, it is easier to embed new applications such as variable personalization and TransPromo documents into existing workflows – an advantage that Selecta is keen to exploit. Another benefit is the powerful Océ PRISMA software, an architected suite of software tools that ensure effective, reliable workflow management from prepress to finishing. Nicola Muraro emphasizes the importance of Océ’s cohesive approach: “The support from Océ – with software, service and color management – was decisive in accelerating our migration from black & white applications to the world of full color.”
