InfoPrint Solutions Company Expands Monochrome Continuous Forms Portfolio

Thursday 12. June 2008 - InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100 to Increase Productivity and Integrity for Direct Mailers, Distributors and More

InfoPrint Solutions Company, the joint venture between IBM and Ricoh, today unveiled its latest continuous forms digital output solutions, the InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100. These new printers bring additional depth to the recently upgraded continuous forms product line. The InfoPrint 4100, a next-generation digital publishing and production output solution, has been enhanced to include advanced controller technology that will drive the uptake of color across the industry.

The InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100 laser printers are designed with the needs and demands of companies who print client invoices, direct marketing mailings, labels and distribution center picking slips in mind. As each document is required to remain in page sequence, these continuous forms printers provide high throughput and integrity ideal for these environments.

“As we work to broaden our continuous forms portfolio with our growing R&D investment from parent company Ricoh, we continue to build on our industry leadership in monochrome printing with the launch of the InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100 solutions,” said Chris Reid, director, monochrome production printing solutions for InfoPrint. “These compact laser printers are developed to enable document sequence integrity with high throughout at a low price point for operation to companies who need to print variable data on a standard monthly basis.”

Enable integrity of page sequencing and high throughput – InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100
The InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100 provide high levels of throughput in a compact laser printer that requires minimal floor space. With speeds of up to 115 pages per minute (ppm) for the InfoPrint 75 and 154 ppm for InfoPrint 100, these entry-level devices offer high levels of productivity with the page sequence integrity of a continuous forms printer.

InfoPrint 75 and InfoPrint 100 support both PostScript and PCL data languages and prints high quality 600 dpi printing, providing clarity on text and graphics for such output as barcoded labels. Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) support is planned for 2009.

Both are Energy Star compliant and include easy-to-use auto loading of fan-fold forms and an internally powered output stacker.

Expansion of Continuous Forms for TransPromo demands
InfoPrint recently announced enhancements to its next-generation digital publishing and production output solution, the InfoPrint 4100, including advanced controller technology that will drive the uptake of color across the industry. The InfoPrint POWER Controller is a state-of-the-art, common, scalable software platform that powers the InfoPrint 4100 printer family.

This groundbreaking enhancement is a real benefit for those InfoPrint customers who are starting to combine variable data and image color on must-read documents such as statements and bills, allowing them to build new applications in color and output in either monochrome or color using the same architecture. This capability also simplifies backup and recovery scenarios allowing customers to easily move jobs from an AFP color printer or a monochrome device like the InfoPrint 4100. Customers can now reduce costs on application development, maintenance and infrastructure by driving InfoPrint monochrome and color platforms with a single application.
