InfoPrint Solutions Company Unveils drupa 2008 Line Up

Wednesday 16. April 2008 - InfoPrint Solutions Company, a joint venture between IBM and Ricoh, today announced its line up of solutions for drupa 2008, Hall 9 booth B44.

InfoPrint will demonstrate the power of its solutions for TransPromo, book printing, direct mail, multi-channel marketing, Automated Document Factory (ADF) and workflow management. These applications will be running on the InfoPrint 5000 continuous forms production printer and the upcoming InfoPrint EMP156 cut-sheet printer. InfoPrint will also demonstrate its commitment to the environment with the launch of its Container Collection Program.

“drupa 2008 will mark the one year anniversary of InfoPrint Solutions Company,” said Dermot O’Loughlin, InfoPrint EMEA general manager. “Our relationship with Ricoh has gone from strong to stronger and we will be using drupa as the platform to show new production offerings that combine Ricoh’s technical prowess with InfoPrint’s market expertise.”

Monochrome Cut-Sheet – InfoPrint EMP156

InfoPrint will show its new monochrome cut-sheet solution, the InfoPrint EMP156. This extends the current InfoPrint cut-sheet family at the high end, brings increased productivity, and targets an affordable cost per page for in-house print operations.

The InfoPrint EMP156 boasts speeds of up to 156 ppm. It includes advanced paper handling technology, excellent print quality and a monthly duty cycle of up to 4.5 million impressions.

TransPromo on the InfoPrint 5000

Other solutions on show include the AFP-enhanced InfoPrint 5000 continuous forms color production duplex printer. With the availability of the AFP controller on the InfoPrint 5000, AFP-based monochrome transaction printing customers can easily take advantage of color TransPromo marketing opportunities. With TransPromo, marketers can create add promotional messages to transactional documents to increase their marketing value and response rates.

InfoPrint will demonstrate its TransPromo Solutions Suite running on the InfoPrint 5000. This suite enables customers to combine the latest in print and personalization technology with their existing IT infrastructure. It comprises InfoPrint’s AFP-enhanced InfoPrint 5000, InfoPrint ProcessDirector (IPPD), and software from best-of-breed partners like Prinova, Mapping and Exstream.

Multi-channel marketing

InfoPrint will be demonstrating the value of a complete direct marketing service with a choice of integrated communications channels across email, mail and SMS depending on customers’ preferences and previous behavior.

This allows customers to focus their marketing on the cost per respondent rather than the traditional CPM (cost per mailpack). Consumer marketing campaigns can be linked to fully personalized web pages created on-the-fly, generating offers based on customer insight.

This multi-channel marketing application combines InfoPrint production print solutions and InfoPrint Workflow with Exstream Dialogue enterprise document automation software. It has already been deployed by CDMS in the UK for its work with Littlewoods, the catalog retailer.
Automated Document Factory (ADF)

ADF addresses customer pains such as regulatory compliance; multi-site management through modules including mailroom integrity; postal optimization; workflow; output manageability; and postage and cost containment.

Direct mail

The use of direct mail continues to grow worldwide, and InfoPrint will be demonstrating solutions to allow service bureaus to meet customer demands for the combination of creative, customized, high-quality pieces and higher throughput, all with a focus on cost control.

Bookflow

InfoPrint’s solution for print on demand books helps publishers achieve shorter print runs at a lower cost and reduce complexity through advanced automation technology. It enables customers to leverage their existing investments in PDF by automating prepress and print production for both book and manual production, as well as in-plant and print-for-pay accounts.

Bookflow ensures all parts of the production workflow process run smoothly by linking to InfoPrint’s recognized print management technology and PDF workflow solutions – InfoPrint Manager (IPM) and IPPD. IPM and IPPD help manage the print job from order entry and management through the complete printing process. Bookflow also brings together components developed by InfoPrint’s industry partners, including IoFlex, Ultimate Technologies, RSA, Press-sense, Planet Press and Omnium.

Other solutions

InfoPrint solutions on show at drupa will include the InfoPrint 4100 MS 1 production simplex printer with LRSI pre and post finishing options, and the InfoPrint 2135 cut-sheet printer.
Container Collection Program

Returning InfoPrint 1000 series toner cartridges in bulk is free and easy through the InfoPrint Container Collection Program. Customers participating in this program receive containers that allow the return of multiple cartridges to provide convenience and to help reduce the transportation of used cartridges.
