MGI & FRENCH POST OFFICE TO PRESENT CUSTOM ENVELOPE PRINTING APPLICATIONS AT PLANETE TIMBRE

Tuesday 10. June 2008 - MGI to demonstrate custom color envelope printing capabilities

MGI Digital Graphic Technology, the multi-substrate (paper and plastic) digital press and finishing solutions manufacturer, will exhibit jointly with Phil@poste (a division of La Poste Group, the French Post Office) at the Planete Timbre show, held June 14-22, 2008 in Paris, France.

Together, MGI and Phil@poste will present a total digital envelope printing solution with MGI’s Meteor DP60 Pro multi-substrate 4-color digital press and the EnvelopExpress envelope feeder. The Meteor DP60 Pro’s full variable data capabilities combined with the rapid delivery stream of the EnvelopExpress will allow Phil@poste to produce over 3,000 custom printed envelopes per hour.

MGI, the only French manufacturer of digital presses and finishing equipment, has been a supplying partner to Phil@poste’s Perigueux, France plant since 2002. The Meteor DP60 Pro, MGI’s newest digital press, was selected for this new project thanks to its unique ability to print full color envelopes in short runs.

The Meteor DP60 Pro was officially launched at drupa, the world’s largest print media trade fair, currently taking place in Düsseldorf, Germany. The La Poste partnership comes on the heels of several other major announcements at drupa for MGI, including a key contract for envelope printing with Bong Ljungdahl, one of Europe’s largest envelope printers and manufacturers.

Planete Timbre is an international trade show focusing on stamps and stamp collecting. Both MGI and La Poste representatives will be on hand to demonstrate MGI’s equipment and print official La Poste pre-stamped envelopes, which will also be available for purchase.
