FESPA Mexico World Expo 2008 Featuring Over A Third New Exhibitors

Thursday 05. June 2008 - Floor space expanded by 25% to accommodate demand from first-time exhibitors

Exhibitor bookings for FESPA Mexico World Expo 2008 (Centro Banamex, Mexico City, 21-23 August 2008) have exceeded expectations, with over a third of the event’s total bookings bought by new exhibitors.

FESPA Mexico World Expo, formerly known as imageWorld prior to FESPA’s acquisition of the show in March this year, has attracted exhibitors from the screenprinting and digital imaging industries from across North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Michael Ryan, FESPA event manager and co-ordinator of FESPA Mexico World Expo 2008, comments: “We are delighted with the enthusiasm that we have had from exhibitors and we are particularly thrilled with the response that we have had from first-time exhibitors. This is a direct reflection of the strength of the FESPA brand among leading suppliers who are confident that we will deliver an event that adds real value to their business. After acquiring the event earlier this year, a key aim was to expand the show under the FESPA brand. We successfully managed to do this, having increased the floor space by 25 per cent to 5000m2 to accommodate new exhibitors, which comprise over a third of the event’s total exhibitors.”

Prominent industry brands including Canon, Durst, EFI, Epson, Fujifilm Sericol, Gandi Innovations, HP and Sawgrass will exhibit at FESPA Mexico World Expo 2008. There will also be a strong show presence from local screen and digital distributors, which include Casa Diaz, DPI, Graficolor, Nazdar, Plastimundo, Rodatec, Sagaro, Sanchez, Swisstec, Serigrafia de Alta Technologia (MHM agent), Ultraflex and Wide Media.

“HP is exhibiting at FESPA México World Expo, as we see it as an important event for us to demonstrate our product portfolio to the Mexican and Latin American region. We are happy to announce our support of FESPA events on a global scale by taking Corporate Sponsorship of the Mexico show”, says HP.

José Arturo Huerta, Screenprint Manager from Sanchez S.A. comments: “FESPA, as an international federation, now with a presence in Latin America, will be extremely productive for the industry. Their experience and knowledge of screen printing will be beneficial, bringing to Mexico the latest printing trends and providing an opportunity for the graphics design industry to see a variety of companies on a worldwide level.”

The conference programme for FESPA Mexico World Expo includes presentations from a number of industry experts discussing a variety of topics. Scott Fresener, founder of the U.S. Screen Print & Inkjet Technology, and an Adobe expert, will present, ‘How to fix bad artwork’ and analyses the state of the garment industry in his ‘Direct-to-Garment’ session. Nicholas Hellmuth, founder of FLAAR, will discuss how UV Curable printers differ from a Solvent or Eco-Solvent inkjet printers and also examines applications and profit potential with UV curable inkjet printers. FESPA managing director, Frazer Chesterman will present a session on ‘Printing for Profit’ and Conlatingraf President, Juan Carlos Sacco, will analyse the Latin American market, the services it provides and its role in international trade. In addition to the conference, recognised textile printing industry expert Charlie Taublieb will be holding ‘Charlie’s Corner’, a set of screen printing/textile workshops.

Michael Ryan concludes: “At FESPA we recognise and understand the needs of strong emerging markets and feedback from the region’s print community tells us that there is a real need for a first-class event that brings together globally recognised brands and local distributors. Visitors to FESPA Mexico World Expo can expect the same high-quality experience and return that they would expect from any FESPA event. Our programme of knowledge-sharing initiatives are designed to support printers on a range of topical issues of interest to them and offers them the opportunity to learn about new technologies, applications and the latest industry developments. Attendees will have the chance to hear world-leading print authorities discuss a variety of issues, consider the future for large format printing and understand the opportunities in the digital printing market to help them grow their businesses and become more profitable.”
