Nipson Enables Book-on-Demand Production, Business Growth at IPP

Tuesday 27. May 2008 - Intellectual Property Publishing House (IPP) was founded in 1980 for the purpose of publishing Patent Gazettes, Patent Documents, Instructions and Abstracts.

Two years ago, in an effort to beat the high inventory costs and accommodate increasing short-runs, IPP acquired a Nipson VaryPress high-speed digital monochrome printing system from Syntax, Nipson’s value-added distributor in China. It is the first high-speed book-on-demand production line with roll to roll & two up duplex mode in Asia.

That investment has paid off; based on Nipson’s VaryPress, IPP has become one of China’s leading POD production houses. IPP won the highest medal of publishing printing in “Keyin Cup” Digital Printing Awards in China 2007, which was the top event in digital printing fields in China. For that, Lv Rongbo, Vice President of IPP, said, “We won thanks to the combination of Nipson’s advanced technology and Syntax’s comprehensive services.”

“It is very important for us that Nipson has reliable production and lower running cost.” continues Lv Rongbo, “Besides, Nipson’s cold flash-fusing process allows printing on a wide range of substrates, which helps us to develop new business.”

In addition to patent gazette’s production, Nipson’s production line also helped IPP to access the POD market. More and more publishing houses are placing small quantity book-orders through IPP’s service, allowing them to lower their inventories and reduce the associated costs.
