Nipson Displays Unsurpassed Print Productivity Solutions at drupa

Monday 19. May 2008 - Digital Production Press manufacturer showcases enhanced technology in new products that offer higher speed, "offset" quality, and the broadest functionality.

Nipson’s exhibit at the upcoming drupa exposition in Düsseldorf, Germany will showcase the unsurpassed productivity available from the latest models of its VaryPress high speed digital presses. Recent enhancements to Nipson’s unique printing technology will also be evident, delivering its best 600 dpi print quality ever. The VaryPress line encompasses a range of products that provide speed, reliability, quality, and economics to high volume print operations worldwide, including two new products that further extend the line’s ability to address the broadest range of print applications.

“Nipson’s focus always has been on satisfying customer needs,” comments Alain Flament, Nipson’s Chief Marketing Officer. “Our magnetography-based printing systems are high volume production workhorses that perform 24/7, and that can even be integrated with offset and flexo presses into highly productive and cost saving hybrid systems. Now, we also have integrated inkjet technology into our product line to handle some of our customers’ specific application requirements. Combined with the appropriate pre- and post-processing equipment and software, a VaryPress digital press can produce any application black and color with quality, efficiency, and the best economics.”


Among the latest additions to the Nipson line is the new VaryPress 500 digital press, one of the fastest digital toner-based presses on the market today, with high quality 600 dpi output of 150 meters per minute (500 ft. /min). The tension web based VP 500 is specially designed for easy integration with traditional printing equipment such as offset and flexo presses.

Also new on the Nipson stand is the VaryPress SCS Spot Color System for adding from one to four spot colors to a VaryPress 500 line. The VaryPress SCS system adds great flexibility to a print operation. Its unique configuration incorporates high speed drop-on-demand print head arrays that can add one or more colors to a web with the same speed and quality for which the VaryPress product range is already known.

The new VP 500 and SCS units will run inline in the Nipson booth, producing a variety of high volume direct mail and transaction/transpromo document applications. This uniquely powerful combination provides full variable print in both black and color to totally personalize – and maximize the impact of – each finished document, all at high production speeds ( up to 150m/min).

Nipson also will be displaying the proven VaryPress 200 printers in both Single-Engine-Duplex (SED) and Twin-Engine-Duplex (TED) configurations. The TED line will demonstrate the VaryPress’ powerful applicability for printing book blocks, newspapers, while the SED version will demonstrate the production of checks, labels, and integrated cards.

Nipson’s compact 1865 will also be on the stand, performing its role as a proofing and label printer.



All of the applications on the Nipson stand will be controlled by a network of VaryPress PrintServers, Nipson’s comprehensive print management package. Jobs in both AFP and Postscript will be running, simulating a high volume print production facility. A master server will oversee all operations, controlling multiple sub-servers driving the print jobs to the printers on the stand.

The products and applications in the booth will demonstrate the productivity, substrate versatility, and cost benefits of the VaryPress printers to all those print producers who require high volumes of top quality b&w and color output together with easy integration with existing systems and software.


The Nipson stand is located in Hall 4, space C53 at the drupa exposition from May 29 to June 11, 2008.
