SGIA Expands Workshop Area

Friday 02. May 2008 - New extension of lab and classroom area for more students, technologies

The next time you’re at an SGIA hands-on workshop, prepare to experience a larger classroom and workshop area, featuring even more cutting-edge technologies from SGIA lab contributors.
SGIA recently renovated the educational workshop area in its Fairfax, Virginia headquarters to allot extra room for additional students and a more open workflow for vast array of color management, screen printing (for garment and graphic applications), digital imaging (wide-format inkjet, direct-to-garment inkjet) and finishing (mounting and laminating) systems available.
“With this enhancement, students will have a better environment to examine the latest in digital imaging and screen printing,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services.
SGIA workshops — which provide firsthand learning experiences using state-of-the-art digital and screen devices provided by SGIA member companies — will still offer small class-size settings to promote better instructor-student interaction and hands-on training from industry experts, Shell said.
“The new renovations allow for the space needed by the digital imaging machines and an even more comfortable learning environment,” he noted.
The next workshop in the newly outfitted lab will be the Vehicle Wraps workshop (June 12-13).
