Steve Brown and Dave Jackson with the GBC 620os on-demand laminating system

Monday 07. April 2008 - GBC Commercial Laminating Solutions Group, part of Acco Brands Corporation (NYSE: ABD - news) and world market leader in print finishing equipment and consumables has installed the first GBC 620os on-demand laminating system at Jackson Media Services in High Wycombe, UK.

The machine provides the company with in-house finishing for products printed on its new HP Indigo 3500 Digital Press.

Trading as ‘Your Print Solution’, JMS has grown from strength to strength over the last year.  With a move to bigger premises and an increase in staff the company is carefully putting together the building blocks for its future.  Situated in a busy thoroughfare in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, Your Print Solution has grown by reputation for its availability, its flexibility and its high tech capabilities.   Joint Managing Directors, Dave Jackson and Steve Brown have complimentary skills and experience – Dave in Repro and Steve in Sales & Marketing within the print industry.

“The purchase of the GBC laminating system is proving to be a big plus for YPS,” says Steve Brown.  “Once we started looking at the choices on the market, the GBC 620os stood out as the clear winner for our purposes.  The semi auto ‘burst’ separates the sheet from the roll at the output stage.   This is of key importance and allows us to achieve three clean edges.  We can auto-process 200 sheets at a time and for booklets, and brochures this facet of the machine’s capabilities is fundamental to attain the speed and quality we desire for short run on-demand jobs.”

Your Print Solution was set up almost four years ago but has taken off in the last eighteen months since moving premises.   With its customer base growing by the day, mainly through reputation for excellent customer service and high quality delivery, YPS is achieving significant recognition.  With a comprehensive but selective plant list, they provide a full service from pre-press and colour management right through to finishing, fulfillment and delivery.   Producing digital print and plates for the litho market for multiple sectors including retail, medical, entertainment, finance and manufacturing, it is the company’s mission to give a personal service using the latest technologies on the market.

The high productivity of the single sided GBC 620os laminating system is a key plus for all printing jobs.   Using GBC’s high quality films – silk, linen, metallized, scuff free matte and gloss and GBC Digital OPP, YPS praise the 620os adjustable core adapters for various film widths and an integrated separator.   With speeds of 15m/minute and a maximum sheet size of 53cm x 76cm, the machine is ideal for short runs and fast 24 hour delivery.

Your Print Solution will also become the demonstration site in the UK for the GBC 620os laminating system. “We are delighted,” states Dave Jackson, “as we know we can show other printers the diversity and flexibility that this laminating system offers to pass on added value print to the customer.  Our choice for GBC was partly determined by its long standing R&D in the finishing sector.   Their expertise and research into laminating and encapsulating over the years is demonstrated in the sophistication of their products, giving their systems and consumables an added edge.  The GBC 620os laminating system is so well thought out.  It is just right for our needs especially for personalized jobs.  There is no wastage and every sheet has a perfect finish.   It’s a top quality machine.”
