swissQprint opens the doors of its new home
Monday 06. July 2015 - The official opening of the new Schützenwiese commercial building in Kriessern, Switzerland, took place on the last weekend in June. This is the new home of printer manufacturer swissQprint, alongside around 20 other companies.
Since early 2015, there has been a hive of activity at the Schützenwiese commercial and industrial building next to the Kriessern motorway exit, right by the Swiss-Austrian border. As the year got underway, twenty tenants in a wide range of industries began occupying their new premises. These premises were open to the local population on the last weekend of June 2015 and attracted 6000 visitors. Ahead of the public open days, swissQprint sales partners from 30 countries visited to inspect the new headquarters of this manufacturer of large- format printers.
More space for more staff
swissQprint took occupancy of its new halls and offices just as the year began. Now, the company’s precision printers take shape on a floor area of 4700 square metres. A distinctive tower holds a further 1000 square metres of office space. In total, swissQprint has more than doubled its working area. Moreover, production, logistics and administration are now on the same level, which greatly simplifies operations; staff worked across four floors at the former premises in Widnau. And talking of staff, swissQprint has been recruiting recently as part of the expansion and to raise production capacity. There are now 56 employees whose daily work centres entirely on the premium large-format printers.
A pleasant, environmentally friendly work environment
Daylight floods the workplaces through huge windows and skylights. This ensures pleasant working conditions and often makes electric light unnecessary. It is pleasing, economical and ecological at the same time. The initiators and planners paid heed to sustainability wherever possible. Thus, heat exchange with groundwater warms as well as cools the entire building. Much precious land has been spared due to the three principal tenants having pooled their effort, rather than each erecting separate premises. swissQprint is one of those tenants; the others are Menzi Muck, a manufacturer of excavators, and Dietsche Montageprofis, a company specialised in building installation work.
