Primera technology Europe to unveil latest label printing solutions

Friday 17. April 2015 - At Gulf Print & Pack 2015, Primera Technology Europe (stand A3), a leading manufacturer of speciality printers, will present its FX400e foil imprinter. FX400e, an optional accessory to Primera's LX-series color label printers, applies shiny gold and silver borders, fonts and other graphics to inkjet or laser-printed labels.

Especially wine or high-quality products labels can benefit from shiny metallic borders and graphics as labels then convey luxury and elegance and therefore emphasize the high quality and value of each product. Other colors such as red, blue, green and yellow as well as clear film are available. When printed onto inkjet-printed labels, the clear film not only adds a professional, glossy finish but also makes labels virtually waterproof. Additionally, the clear film adds UV resistance to printed output, allowing longer exposure to natural and artificial light sources.
Besides the FX400e foil imprinter Primera will show its inkjet-based LX-Series color label printers. The latest model of that series – the LX900e – is Primera’s fastest and most economical to operate printer. A print resolution of 4800 dpi guarantees a printout in photorealistic quality and enables users to add vibrant pictures of their products next to small texts such as ingredients, instructions or barcodes and still every detail of that label is razor-sharp. Labels can be printed whenever they are needed and in the required quantity. Separate ink cartridges for cyan, magenta, yellow and black keep operating costs low. Short runs are printed fast and efficiently, helping you to increase the production of your products.
The LX900e’s new, specially-designed pigment inks offer far more stability against harsh conditions including water, chemicals, abrasion and exposure to long periods of UV light. A significant advantage of the LX900e’s implementation of pigment inks is that the printer can use either type of ink by simply changing out the removable print head – an exclusive feature that you simply won’t find on other desktop label printers.
With this additional option the LX900e combines the best of both worlds: traditional dye-based inks when you want perfect, photo-quality labels with the best print resolution available and pigment inks when you need the ultimate in durability without the need for lamination.
Primera’s pigment inks meet the standards of BS5609, one of the most rigid durability qualifications in the world for printed output. Printed labels are exposed to immersion in water, salt spray, abrasion and UV light. Conforming to this standard is required for producing GHS hazardous material labels on a desktop label printer.
As a show highlight Primera will also present its brand-new LX2000e color label printer – an industrial-grade desktop printer using inkjet technology. LX2000e features large ink tanks for lower cost per label, fast print speeds and pigment ink for better water and UV resistance. Other highlights include built-in wired/Ethernet or wireless connection options, “pizza wheel” cutter, front color LCD control panel and viewing window for label stock levels.
