PT Sun Paper Source in Sukoanyar, Indonesia, has successfully put into operation its new VTM 1, a tissue machine from Voith. The operating speed of 1,600 m/min was reached three days after start-up.

BYK-3560 – Additive for increasing the surface energy of cured coatings

Until now it has only been possible to either reduce the surface energy of cured coatings by adding silicone additives or to maintain its original level by adding acrylate leveling additives. Using the new BYK-3560 the surface energy of cured coatings can now even be increased.

Through investments in the local facilities BASF enhances the competitiveness of the photoinitiator production in Mortara, Italy, and strengthens the site in the long term. In 2014, BASF invests 4 to 6 million in its facilities in order to ensure the highest standards of safety and environmental protection and to improve the efficiency of the production lines. In addition, BASF extends its production of photoinitiators in Mortara. The site is one of the largest in the world for the production of photoinitiators.

Unique collaboration on Södra’s bio-composite material – DuraPulp

Södra has begun collaborating with Swt Paper to install a pilot machine for the production of wet-formed Durapulp. The aim is to customise the material and showcase Durapulp’s potential. The pilot machine will make Durapulp for packaging and board products that are directly adapted to customer requirements.
