Kodak to demonstrate latest process free plates

Kodak (stand A1) will be showing its range of SONARA Process Free Plates to the Middle Eastern market for the first time at Gulf Print & Pack 2015. KODAK SONORA Process Free Plates eliminate the processing step required by traditional thermal plates and provide significant energy, water, and waste reductions without requiring printers to make sacrifices on productivity or print capabilities.

Q.I. Press Controls is first choice for People’s Railway News!

The Chinese People’s Railway News in Beijing has opted for Q.I. Press Controls’ mRC-3D for its new printing press. The organisation was the first in China to buy the new IRS eleven years ago and to this day, the system is still operating to their complete satisfaction. In fact, People’s Railway News is so happy with the service and quality from Q.I. Press Controls, that they told printing press manufacturer Seiken that only a Q.I. Press Controls system would be good enough for the new press.

PPWC and Unifor commit to bargaining cooperation in pulp and paper sector

Two of the country’s largest unions in the pulp and paper sector have agreed to work jointly in the next round of pulp and paper bargaining in Western Canada. Unifor and the Pulp, Paper, and Woodworkers of Canada (PPWC) met in Vancouver last week to re-establish the Joint Pulp and Paper Caucus for the upcoming negotiations in 2017.

Brazil’s pulp production trend remains on the rise in February

In the first two months of 2015, Brazilian pulp production increased 10.3% year-over-year totaling 2.8 million tons. Paper production remained practically stable in the first two months of the year, at 1.7 million tons. In the wood panels segment, production in the first two months of 2015 totaled 1.2 million m³, a 6% drop year-over-year.
