Avery Dennison recognizes suppliers from across the globe in second annual awards ceremony

Avery Dennison Materials Group (NYSE:AVY) recognized nine pressure-sensitive industry suppliers during the company’s second supplier recognition ceremony held at the Materials Group’s European Headquarters in the Leiden Bio Science Park in Oegstgeest, Netherlands on March 24. Winners were selected based on their performance in areas such as sustainability, innovation, service, overall value and quality.

Appvion adds to its high-speed inkjet product portfolio

Appvion, Inc. has announced the addition of a 20 lb. bond to its lineup of treated high-speed inkjet papers. Engineered and manufactured specifically for web-based inkjet printing, Appvion’s 20 lb. Treated High-Speed Inkjet Paper has been qualified on key original equipment manufacturers’ (OEMs) presses including Ricoh, and Screen. This new paper is the latest addition to Appvion’s expanding portfolio of specialty papers, one that includes market-leading products in the carbonless, thermal and security segments.

Avery Dennison announces Patent infringment suit against UPM Raflatac

Avery Dennison (NYSE:AVY) announced today that it has filed a lawsuit in Germany against UPM Raflatac, asserting that Raflex MDO infringes European Patent Number 2 049 333 B1, Avery Dennison’s patent on its Global MDOTM pressure-sensitive film product. In the suit, Avery Dennison asks the German court to prevent UPM Raflatac from manufacturing, marketing, or selling Raflex MDO without a license. Global MDO is protected under patents granted in both Europe and China, and has patent applications pending in the US and Brazil.
