M-REAL INCREASES PRICES FOR COATED FINE AND MAGAZINE PAPERS

As stated when releasing its Q3/2008 results, M-real stressed the need to increase prices in all main product areas in order to improve profitability.

RUSSIA’S POSTPONEMENT OF WOOD EXPORT DUTY INCREASES WILL HAVE NO SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON M-REAL’S OPERATIONS

Russia’s announcement that it will postpone the increase of export duties on wood that was foreseen for the beginning of 2009 by at least nine months gives the industry more time to adjust to the ending of wood imports from Russia.

CUP tops the list in the MCS Challenge 2008

Cambridge University Press is the winner of this year’s PaperCo MCS (Maine, Chromomat and Satimat) Challenge, awarded for the most outstanding or creative use of any of these top class coated art stocks. This book was produced using Satimat 130gsm for the text pages supplied by PaperCo’s Mason’s Paper division.

Stora Enso Ventures partly owned Design Force launches solution for off-the-shelf sustainability

Stora Enso Ventures’ partly owned company Design Force AB of Sweden has developed and manufactures a board laminate material called Re-board, which is made from recycled paper and can itself be recycled. The material is very light, strong and printable.
