Tieto concludes personnel negotiations in Finland

In April, Tieto announced Group-wide personnel adjustments. In Finland, the related personnel negotiations have now been concluded, and as a result, Tieto will make a total of 220 persons redundant and temporarily lay off no more than 1 500 employees during 2009 either for a fixed period or until further notice.

Alcoa Supports the Illinois Army National Guard Recycling Program

Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that more than 50 U.S. Army National Guard facilities in Illinois, through support from the Illinois Recycling Association, will enhance their recycling programs by using recycling bins donated by Alcoa.

Ricoh Sustainable Development Award Presented to Outstanding High School Students at Intel ISEF 2009 Special Awards Ceremony

Ricoh Americas Corporation presented two high school students with the Ricoh Sustainable Development Award at the 2009 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), the world’s largest pre-college science competition, during a special awards ceremony in Reno, Nev., on Thursday, May 14. The students will split a $25,000 scholarship from Ricoh for their impressive environmental innovations in recycling and alternative energy.

Member of the Borealis Scientific Advisory Board Alumni Professor Ann-Christine Albertsson receives Giulio Natta award

On May 16, 2009, during an award ceremony in Ferrara, Italy, attended by representatives of both academia and industry, the Giulio Natta Award was officially handed over to Professor Ann-Christine Albertsson, a leading scientist who is globally recognized for her scientific contribution to the interdisciplinary areas of polymers and biological sciences. Professor Albertsson has been a member of the Borealis Scientific Advisory Board.

Richard Sutis, president of Goss International, will retire after 44 years of service to the printing industry

Goss International announces that after 44 years of service, its president Richard (Dick) J. Sutis will retire on July 31, 2009. Sutis will retain his positions as vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai Goss Graphic Systems, a joint-venture of Goss International and Shanghai Electric Group in China, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Goss Graphics Systems Japan Corporation.
