New Rapida 106 X from Koenig & Bauer Accelerates Commercial Printing at Möller Pro Media and Reduces Material Costs

Thomas Bertelt, Managing Director of Möller Pro Media: “By investing in the Rapida 106 X, we are raising our performance in commercial printing to an entirely new level.”

Monday 04. May 2026 - The media service provider Möller Pro Media, based in Ahrensfelde near Berlin, is systematically expanding its expertise in media production. With the installation of a new Rapida 106 X high-performance sheetfed offset press from Koenig & Bauer, the company is investing in maximum efficiency for commercial printing.

The eight-colour press with coating facilities and perfecting for 4-over-4 production achieves top speeds of 20,000 sheets per hour in straight printing and 18,000 sheets per hour in perfecting mode. This allows Möller Pro Media to accelerate the production of magazines, customer journals, and catalogues for core sectors such as publishing, associations, tourism, industry, and retail.

A key lever for improved cost-effectiveness in commercial printing is the highly flexible press configuration. It enables double-sided, four-colour printing including finishing in just a single pass. The elimination of additional processing steps massively accelerates the entire production process. At the same time, Möller Pro Media’s customers benefit from first-class inline finishing, which lends magazines (and their covers), annual reports, and premium catalogues an outstanding visual and tactile quality – a decisive criterion in high-end commercial printing.

Combining the highest quality with efficiency and flexibility
Current print runs and the trend towards target-group-specific publications necessitate rapid job changes in commercial printing today. Koenig & Bauer designed the Rapida 106 X specifically for these challenges. The coating unit with AniloxLoader changes the anilox rollers fully automatically, which drastically reduces make-ready times and minimises the effort required when switching between different coating film thicknesses.

“By investing in the Rapida 106 X, we are raising our performance in commercial printing to an entirely new level,” explains Thomas Bertelt, Managing Director of Möller Pro Media. “The extremely short make-ready times and the outstanding printing output allow us to react even more flexibly and economically to the time-critical requirements of our customers. For us, this press is a crucial building block in combining the highest quality with maximum efficiency and flexibility.”

Through the QualiTronic ColorControl inline measuring system and additional features such as ErgoTronic ACR for video register control, the Rapida 106 X offers superior colour consistency from the first sheet to the last. This perceptibly reduces waste, conserves resources, and supports Möller Pro Media’s sustainable production. With the digital connection to LogoTronic Performance and PressWatch, the company maintains a full overview of all relevant performance indicators and production reports at all times.
