DuPont Cyrel ReNew honored with Sustainability Excellence Award at FTA FORUM INFOFLEX 2026

Tuesday 28. April 2026 - DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions has announced today that its innovative DuPont Cyrel ReNew flexographic plate technology has received the Sustainability Excellence Award at the FTA Banquet, held in Milwaukee, WI, USA, on Sunday, April 26, 2026.

“This award underscores our continued leadership in flexographic innovation and our commitment to providing a more sustainable future in the packaging printing industry,” said Tucker Norton, Vice President and General Manager, DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions.

Cyrel ReNew plates incorporate more than 50% ISCC PLUS-certified bio-circular raw materials in the photopolymer, enabling a significant reduction in reliance on virgin fossil-based resources. Built on a mass balance approach, the new solution provides traceability of renewable inputs across the value chain while aligning with circular economy principles.

“The award recognizes the Cyrel ReNew series as a breakthrough in sustainable platemaking, supporting the transition away from fossil-based raw materials while maintaining the performance standards required for high quality packaging printing,” said Serena Stephenson, Director of Innovation, DuPont Cyrel Flexographic Solutions.

Cyrel ReNew LSH represents the first product of the newly introduced family of Cyrel ReNew plates. The plate brings the LED exposure technology from Cyrel Lightning, while reducing the product’s carbon footprint through the application of the mass balance methodology. As a drop-in solution, Cyrel ReNew LSH delivers the same high-quality print performance as conventional Cyrel Lightning LSH plates.

DuPont Cyrel ReNew LSH plates can deliver a 15% lower product carbon footprint compared with fossil-based plates – saving approximately 83 kg CO2e per box of 10 plates, an impact comparable to growing a tree seedling for 10 years.*

“At Cyrel, we’re focused on advancing flexographic technologies that reduce environmental impact while maintaining the quality, consistency, and reliability our customers expect. This is clearly demonstrated by our well-established Cyrel FAST thermal system, as well as our recent GreenCircle certification,” said Serena Stephenson. “The Cyrel ReNew recognition marks another meaningful milestone and reflects the team’s continued commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable plate solutions.”

Added Tucker Norton: “As customers continue to demand solutions that meet their sustainability needs, advanced technologies such as Cyrel ReNew create new opportunities across the packaging value chain. We understand how sustainability is a key concern for our customers around the world, and this solution strengthens their position with brand owners who are prioritizing transparency and environmental accountability.

“This is not simply about meeting targets – it’s about building stronger, future-focused relationships. We’re fully committed to advancing technologies that unlock new possibilities in flexographic platemaking, while addressing sustainability challenges without compromising the quality and consistency of the final print,” he said.
