Ingalls Design employs Digital Gold

Wednesday 28. January 2015 - PaperSpecs and Neenah Paper feature In the Design Studio: Digital Gold Ink. In a little over a year, digital gold ink has gone from a rumored-but-unseen promise to arguably the most important new development to hit the print design world in a decade. In this PaperSpecs and Neenah video, Tom Ingalls and Kseniya Makarova of Ingalls Design take you on a detailed tour of how they created the dazzling Golden State Postcard Sampler - a collection of craft-beer inspired cards - using newly added Neenah Environment papers and digital gold ink.

Tom Ingalls and Kseniya Makarova of Ingalls Design discuss the design process for using Digital Gold, and the advantages of using digital printing. “Because of the digital process we were allowed to do a lot of experimentation on press. In fact the printers, when using digital equipment, encourage you to run more proofs…. So the idea that Kseniya was able to see the builds of the black over golds and keep adjusting that, the end result is really something of strong rich balance of the ink colors and paper colors,” says Ingalls.
