UV-LED is still the current trend

Again, Dr. Hönle AG looks back to a successful Fespa show. The UV specialist has accompanied digital UV printing from the very beginning. For some years now, digital printing shows a strong tendency towards UV-LED curing. Hönle has adapted this promising technology for their customers very early: “When we received the first requests for UV-LED solutions from the printing sector some years ago, we had already been successful in developing UV-LED devices for bonding applications for quite a while”, tells Dieter Stirner, Sales Director at Hönle. “Thus, it was only a little step to adapt this technology to printing applications.”
Today, UV-LED curing systems have a considerable share of Hönle’s turnover. And each year, new UV-LED developments are added to their product range. At Fespa 2015 Hönle presented their latest addition, the jetCure LED. This highly intensive curing unit was specially developed for inkjet printing. Irradiation width and wavelength can perfectly be adapted to each application.
Also brand-new are air-cooled UV-LED modules of 4 or 8 Watt, which are stackable without a gap up to any length.
“Our visitors were very interested in our UV and UV-LED products “, acknowledges Dieter Stirner. “But maybe we are still happier about the fact that Hönle systems could not only be found on our booth.” At Fespa 2015, there were 22 Hönle UV systems integrated in plants of seven large-format printing press manufacturers.
