3D PRINTER AT 56TH STREET AND 8TH AVENUE

Monday 26. May 2014 - Rolling 3D Printer Showroom Coming to a Street Corner Near You

The United States Postal Service adheres to a lofty creed:
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”
The same might be said of SCULPTGRAPHICZ’s (Mcor’s Authorised Reseller in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Connecticut, Delaware and Detroit) innovative and effective method for educating people about Mcor’s SDL 3D printing technology. It’s a “tricked out” mobile demo RV (recreational vehicle), affectionately known as the SCULPTGRAPHICZ Rolling Showroom.
The RV has it all…TRUE Colour and monochrome 3D printed models representing a range of industry segments, meeting space, educational resources, a monitor playing looping videos and, of course, the star – an Mcor IRIS 3D printer printing models right there in the RV, regardless of whether it’s parked in a local university parking lot (car park) or at a parking meter on a busy street in Midtown Manhattan.

“In general, people are more responsive to the practical vs. the theoretical,” said Marvin Seligman, President of SCULPTGRAPHICZ. “SCULPTGRAPHICZ RV demo days create a powerful interactive experience. We wanted to bring the technology to our prospective customers. With today’s busy schedules, there will never be an opportunity to gather 15-20, or more, people from a single organisation together to see the technology. With the SCULPTGRAPHICZ Rolling Showroom, everyone gets to see and feel the parts, and more importantly, see the Mcor IRIS 3D printing models. The entire organisation walks away with a clear understanding of the technology and the process. Akin, to buying a car, not too many people purchase a car without a test drive. The test drive’ is satisfied during the demo.”
The RV is currently driven to demo days by Robert Chiari, VP of Sales at SCULPTGRAPHICZ following prequalification. Seligman adds that a dedicated driver is in the plans.
Says Seligman, “Education is one of our biggest and most important vertical markets. Students are encouraged to visit the RV right there on campus during a demo day. However it is very important that, in addition to our primary contact at the schools, deans, department chairs and other faculty and staff also visit us during the demo, because these are the folks that have the ability to say, ‘Yes, our students need to have this tool.'”

The SCULPTGRAPHICZ Rolling Showroom launched in January of this year and has already demonstrated Mcor IRIS TRUE colour 3D printing to over 100 3D printing enthusiasts throughout the Tri-State area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut).
