MCOR TECHNOLOGIES GROWS 3D PRINTING MARKET IN CANADA; NAMES ARCTIC AUTOMATE CERTIFIED RESELLER

Monday 12. May 2014 - Arctic Automate chooses Mcor over Stratasys and 3D Systems citing versatility, reliability and accessibility

Mcor Technologies Ltd, manufacturer of the only line of paper-based 3D printers in the world, and winner of the prestigious 2013 3D Printshow Brand of the Year Award, announced today that they have named Arctic Automate as Mcor Certified Reseller covering Western Canada and Alaska. Arctic Automate will cover all market verticals and specialize in the education, architecture, product development and service bureau markets.
Following a competitive review of leading 3D printing technologies, including Stratasys and 3D Systems, Arctic Automate selected Mcor 3D printing technology for its unprecedented accessibility, versatility and reliability.
“We had been using extruder-based 3D printers, CNC mills, laser cutters and other digital fabricating technology,” said Tom Bamford, Principle of Arctic Automate. “We found the Mcor IRIS to be a powerful tool for design and commercialization, especially in large geographies like ours where consumables and service for other technologies have proven to be an issue.” Adds Bamford, “Mcor is a game-changer for accessibility.”
“We are very pleased to welcome Arctic Automate to the Mcor family of reselling partners,” said Dr. Conor MacCormack, co-founder and CEO of Mcor Technologies. “Western Canada and the northwest US is an important 3D printing market. We believe they have the vision and expertise to successfully bring Mcor’s professional-class, True Color 3D printing technology to professionals and consumers across this vast region.”
Based in Whitehorse, Yukon, Arctic Automate is a product development and rapid prototyping studio, and now a distributor of Mcor IRIS and Matrix 300+ 3D printers. The company’s vision is to become the primary distributor for disruptive design and manufacturing technology in Canada, as well as provide wider accessibility to the technology through their 3D printing service bureau.
Arctic Automate joins a growing number of companies who are taking advantage of Mcor’s partner program. Mcor has seen phenomenal growth in their channel; “the number of partners increased by 1200% from July 2012 and as a result sales growth is about 600% for the same period,” added MacCormack. Mcor continues to seek channel partners worldwide and has very aggressive growth plans for 2014.
