Friday 10. January 2014 - BP Amoco Chemical share innovation and go-to-market strategy
Speakers from Frito Lay North America and Kraft Foods will share their considerable packaging strategy, design and innovation expertise at The Packaging Conference 2014. On the supplier side, BP Amoco Chemical Company will discuss new polyester technology advancements.
The premier event for the latest packaging initiatives and emerging technologies will be held February 3-5, 2014 in Orlando at the Rosen Shingle Creek. Discounted, early registration (by January 15th) is available.
Brand managers and marketers typically lead CPG company innovation. However, this can be challenging for packaging and R&D functions who are asked to deliver results on a short timeline or limited budget. Two senior Frito Lay packaging and R&D professionals, Garry Kohl and David Lestage, Ph.D., will discuss how internal resources are leveraged to deliver the desired consumer experience. The speakers will share how the R&D packaging “push” is turned into marketing “pull” using transformational formats.
Peter Borowski, head of design for Kraft Foods Group, Inc. and the visionary behind the MiO launch, will lead a panel discussion on “Why Integrating 2D and 3D thinking into the developmental process is needed today.” The advantages of an integrated packaging design approach will be presented with the goals of faster-to- market, higher efficiencies and under the least amount of stress.
Luis Sierra, president, BP Amoco Chemical Company, will offer his insights on how the company’s latest technology advancements will impact global packaging innovation.
Additionally, The Packaging Conference will feature for the first time a bonus Latin American session Wednesday. The objective is to provide a forum for dialog between brand owners and suppliers who are supporting the Latin American marketplace. The conference which has traditionally run from midday Monday to midday Wednesday, will now end at 3 pm on the last day.
This year’s event also will have a strong environmental componentspecifically how to use sustainable packaging to create brand loyalty and environmentally-responsible alternatives which also provide cost-effective solutions, coupled with performance.
The Packaging Conference, produced by Plastic Technologies, Inc. and SBA-CCI, Inc., has established a reputation as the must-attend event for the debut of new technologies and other key industry announcements.
“The conference is designed to provide the latest information for those in the packaging supply chain. Attendees range from retailers and brand owners to resin suppliers, technology providers, equipment manufacturers and converters. Providing a forum which helps facilitate dialog between supply chain participants is an important element in meeting packaging objectives,” said John Maddox, president, SBA-CCI.
