Konica Minolta expands MFP-functionality with bizhub MarketPlace

Thursday 08. August 2013 - Today's multifunctional gadgets open up a new dimension and make our lives more and more convenient. With the bizhub MarketPlace, technology leader Konica Minolta puts this new world right at customers' fingertips: The application store for bizhub multifunctional printers (MFP) allows to expand the functionality of the multifunctional device directly from the user panel. Some apps will also provide direct connectivity from the bizhub MFP to popular cloud services such as Google Drive. Now customers have a lot of ways to personalise their bizhub MFP to their exact needs.

bizhub MarketPlace is Konica Minolta’s in-house developed Application Store for
bizhub series multifunctional devices. The store provides a new and easy way to browse and download apps that have been specifically designed to enhance the functionality of the customer’s MFP. It works like similar apps on mobile devices – but the design is specific to the customer’s needs. Once bizhub MarketPlace is installed, the available apps can be conveniently accessed right from the control panel of a bizhub MFP.
Easy access
Installation is easy: Customers just need to open an account on the MarketPlace webpage at www.bizhubmarketplace.eu. After log-in, customers will have access to the support page where they can download and install the bizhub MarketPlace App onto their MFP. An installation manual is also available at the support page. Now the customer can directly select and install the desired app.
A new world with new possibilities for a better work life
Applications like the bizhub connector for Microsoft Sharepoint, Google and Evernote will make work life much easier as it allows to print and to scan directly into the connected programs. This makes content and document management really effective and convenient. bizhub Paper Templates offers a range of different printing templates, for example in notebook-form with graphical, diametric or quadrille paper.
In terms of handling, the new bizhub MFP-Generation convinces the operator with its various adaptabilities: The already intuitive native User Interface of the bizhub MFPs has been revised once more and now shows the most-frequently used function-possibilities. Thanks to four easy panel themes, users will be guided through all the customisation possibilities of their bizhub MFP. The functionality and design is fully adaptable to the user’s requirements. The “wooden theme” and the “copy wizard” are extremely easy to use: Both provide easy access to the most popular settings for copy and the wooden theme even for scan functions. Next to these functionalities, the “modern theme” and the “metal theme” provide in addition popular settings for fax and box. All themes feature a harmonious, elegant and stylish screen design.
