Achim Berg becomes new BITKOM Vice President

Tuesday 18. June 2013 - Achim Berg, CEO of arvato AG and member of the Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA Executive Board, was elected as the new Vice President of BITKOM at the association's 2013 annual conference.

BITKOM is the industry association for the information technology and telecommunications sector, representing around 2,000 companies. Prof. Dieter Kempf, CEO of Datev eG. becomes the Chairman of the association. In addition to Achim Berg, the CEO of Telekom, René Obermann, and Ulrich Dietz, CEO of GFT Technologies AG, were also elected as Vice Presidents.
Philipp Rösler, Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, was one of the first to offer his congratulations on the new appointments: “The IT and telecommunications sector with its enormous innovative strength is extremely important for Germany as a business location.”
