MASTERWORK SHOWS LATEST FOILING TECHNOLOGY AT PRINTTEK 2013
Tuesday 14. May 2013 - Masterwork Graphic Equipment will be proving its worldwide reputation as a leader in the field of foiling with demonstrations throughout Printtek 2013 (17th - 22nd May, Istanbul) of its MK1060ST, an automatic platen foil stamping and die-cutting press.
A high level of automation makes the MK1060ST efficient, accurate and easy to use, with a wide range of functions pneumatically controlled e.g. vacuum feeding system, side guides, chase and cutting plate lock-up device, jogger, sample picking etc. The MK1060ST can handle stock from 0.1 – 2 mm and in sheet sizes from 400 x 350 mm to 1,060 x 760 mm. The maximum output speed when foil stamping is 7,000 sheets per hour, and this is increased to 7,500 sph if die cutting only.
“By designing and producing machines that packaging and post press companies tell us they need, Masterwork has been in the enviable position of seeing its growth in Europe increase year-on-year by some 15 per cent since 2008,” says European sales manager Ken Farnsworth. “We handle sales, service and support to Europe and selected parts of the world from our UK site in Yorkshire, with help from leading distributors in many countries.”
Worldwide demand for Masterwork models is growing at such a pace that the 100,000 sq metre factory in Tianjin, China, completed only in 2011, is about to have a 60,000 sq metre plant built alongside it. This is due to come on stream in June and will be used to make folder-gluers.
Masterwork offers six versions within its Duo-press range, and these provide combinations of foiling, embossing, die cutting, stripping and blanking. The latest model, the 1,060 x 760 mm Duo-press MK2 1060 SER, has the ability to foil, emboss, die cut, strip, blank and handle product collection, at 12,000 impressions per hour – all with one operator. The company also manufactures folder-gluers, foil stamping equipment for web fed production plus inspection systems. A new device for post press printing bar codes will be announced later in the year.
