Silicon Publishing Lifts Adobe InDesign Higher into the Cloud
Wednesday 15. May 2013 - As the worldwide revolution in publishing technology continues, a leading team of innovators is discovering ways to make the whole greater than the sum of its parts by bridging diverse software from different companies. This week from the Adobe MAX conference in L.A., Silicon Publishing will co-host a webinar to talk about what they're up to, including integration strategies they're using to break new ground for the publishing industry.
From May 6 to 8 at the 2013 Adobe Max conference in Los Angeles, Silicon Publishing will be promoting a May 8 webinar about empowering InDesign for cloud-connected workflows, and ways they’ve successfully integrated various applications to improve productivity, quality, and costs at enterprises that publish information in print or online. Details about the time and location of Wednesday’s webinar are provided below.
Silicon Publishing is the industry leader at extending the power of Adobe InDesign with online editing capability, direct connection to web-based assets, and connecting data sources of diverse kinds for multi-channel publishing.
“What we’re famous for is our Adobe InDesign work, and it’s true we are the best in the world at automating InDesign,” said Max Dunn, Silicon Publishing’s CEO.
“What people don’t realize is that when we create these solutions, we have to figure out new ways to get distinct systems and technologies from different companies to work together perfectly. We’re always expanding the power of InDesign by successfully connecting it not just to our own tools, but also to the most important asset management and database systems out there.”
SILICON CONNECTOR
Silicon Publishing created a customized version of Silicon Connector, their core technology for connecting InDesign to web-based asset storage systems, with the digital asset management experts at MediaBeacon. It’s called MediaBeacon Publishing, and it will be demoed at the May 8 webinar.
Also, during the MAX conference, Silicon Publishing will make available for download a free trial of another version of Silicon Connector: Silicon Connector for CQ. It makes remote digital assets directly available within Adobe CQ. It can be downloaded from www.siliconpublishing.com/products/siliconconnector/ until May 9, 2013, or by contacting Silicon Publishing directly thereafter.
Michael Easter, Senior Software Engineer at Silicon Publishing, described Silicon Connector as “primarily a plugin to Adobe InDesign that lets assets reside on the web instead of the file system. This facilitates more powerful cloud-based workflows and is in harmony with recent advances in technology from Adobe, Oracle, and MediaBeacon.”
SILICON PAGINATOR
The May 8 webinar will also demonstrate Silicon Paginator, a product that represents the core traditional strength of Silicon Publishing. A result of 13 years of work to improve solutions for flowing content and data through InDesign and other output formats, the current version of Silicon Paginator can be integrated with content and data stores, including Oracle Product Hub, Adobe CQ, and MediaBeacon.
Silicon Paginator’s output capabilities other than InDesign include ePub, HTML5, and tablet applications through the Adobe Publishing Suite (DPS). This year, the MAX conference will include presentations and discussions about Adobe CQ, Adobe DPS, InDesign, and Creative Suite extensibility, all of which are relevant to Silicon Paginator.
