Fuji Xerox Establishes Business Operation in Myanmar

Friday 19. April 2013 - First in Office Equipment Industry to Open Direct Office in Myanmar, Aiming to Expand Business in the Emerging Market

Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. established its direct business operation in Yangon, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (hereinafter, “Myanmar”), an emerging country where high economic growth is expected. Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (Myanmar Branch) (hereinafter, “Myanmar Branch”) started its operation on April 1.
Currently, Fuji Xerox provides multifunction devices in Myanmar via a local dealer. The Myanmar Branch will provide the dealer with support in carrying out sales activities and sales consulting services, as well as make proposals for high value-added products such as high-speed color publishing systems.
To establish the Myanmar Branch, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, which controls Fuji Xerox’s overseas operations, started a task force in October 2012, since when it has been studying the local market, needs and so forth.
Since the start of the new government in 2011, Myanmar has been promoting deregulation, which is stimulating its economy. The enactment of the new foreign investment law in 2012 will be leading to the creation of a special economic zone. The number of foreign corporations, including Japanese companies, entering Myanmar is rapidly increasing, which is likely to boost the country’s economic growth.
Fuji Xerox will offer quality proposals to foreign companies that demand similar services to those provided in their home countries, as well as products that meet the needs of national and private companies of Myanmar.
Having acquired experience and expertise in the field of document service and communication through years of operations in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, Fuji Xerox aims to expand its business further with the establishment of its Myanmar office.
