Fuji Xerox China Issues a Sustainability Report Exclusive to the Corporate Social Responsiblity Activities in China

Fuji Xerox (China) Limited, a subsidiary of Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd., issued on April 15 its first sustainability report that is written about the corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities throughout the entire value chain—from procurement, manufacturing and sales to recycling of end-of-life products—which took place in China initiated by Fuji Xerox’s five Chinese subsidiariesNote1 in fiscal 2011 and 2012.
Based on the concept, “CSR and corporate management are one and the same,” Fuji Xerox considers social sustainability in all of its activities. Included in the Fuji Xerox China Sustainability Report 2012 (hereinafter, the Report) are details on CSR activities that are taken place for each stakeholder, as well as data disclosure of main CSR indicators. Ethical procurement:
Fuji Xerox regards its suppliers as business partners who share the same CSR values, and communicates closely with them to promote mutually beneficial relationships. The Report describes the initiatives taken by Fuji Xerox China Procurement Service (Shenzhen) Ltd. in educating its suppliers just as equally as its own employees.
Employee care:
Growth of the company is brought forth by the growth and happiness of its staffers. One of Fuji Xerox’s major manufacturing companies, Fuji Xerox of Shenzhen Ltd., pursues various measures through its Employee Assistance Program to care and develop its employees who have migrated far from their home towns to work for the Company.
Reducing environmental burden, both at work and at home:
Fuji Xerox believes in the importance of reducing environmental effects together with the local community. A manufacturing company Fuji Xerox of Shanghai Limited pursues various measures for reducing environmental burden, not only at its factory but in the homes of the employees as well.
Green office:
Fuji Xerox (China) Limited contributes to providing environmentally friendly offices for customers through the sales of its eco-conscious solutions and products.
The Integrated Recycling System:
Fuji Xerox regards used products as valuable resources rather than waste. Fuji Xerox Eco-Manufacturing (Suzhou) Ltd. is the center of Fuji Xerox’s Integrated Recycling System in China, where used products and consumables are collected from across the country and are reused /recycled.
As third party opinions, Gefei Yin, director of International Research Center for Social Responsibility & Sustainability Development at the Peking University, and Kaiming Liu, executive director of the Institute of Contemporary Observation give their opinions on the CSR activities and the Report.
In July 2012, the Company strengthened its business structure in China by positioning Fuji Xerox’s Senior Vice President Masataka Jo as the representative of China Senior Management Committee to oversee all of its Chinese manufacturing, development and sales organizations in a cross-sectoral manner to better respond to the needs of the Chinese market and the society. The Report is the first issue under this structure.
