Ingenious solution for creasing, folding and gluing
Wednesday 16. January 2013 - KAMA to show patented folder-gluer ProFold 74 with new creasing and perforating device at Hunkeler Innovationdays
Creasing and perforating included: the versatile folder-gluer ProFold 74 – fitted with the new creasing and perforating device for the first time – built by Dresden-based KAMA GmbH will be on display at the Hunkeler Innovationdays from 11 to 15 February 2013 in Lucerne, Switzerland. The newly developed module with its specially designed cross carrier table integrates creasing and perforating tasks in the ProFold 74. Any required folding and gluing steps follow seamlessly. This way, a great variety of print products can be finished in one go on the ingenious folder-gluer, thus saving time and money.
“The ProFold 74 with its patented tool mounting grid provides all the flexibility needed in digital printing,” explains KAMA CEO Marcus Tralau. “The new module is a perfect add-on when it comes to creasing and folding greetings cards, displays and other blanks or to perforate answer tags or vouchers.” The desired creasing and perforating width is set in a jiffy at the universal creasing and perforating tool by Technifold. The pivoting cross carrier table developed by KAMA makes production very flexible: Blanks can be aligned optionally at the left or right edge. Of course, they can also be transported stright on without any alignment.
At their shared booth, partners Heidelberg, Polar, ATS-Tanner and KAMA demonstrate the entire workflow of producing an A5-sized brochure and present all solutions involved in a brief product portrait. The ProFold 74 serves to produce the cover of this brochure: To reinforce front and back cover, the cover sheet is creased from either side, folded and glued together with hot melt.
“Thanks to improved quality and the ability to process heavier paper and new materials, digital printing technology has conquered new market segments. Now, fitting post-press solutions are very much sought after,” says Tralau. “Folding, gluing, dispensing samples, attaching adhesive tape and now also creasing and perforating – the multi-faceted ProFold 74 satisfies a wide range of post-press needs.”
