The Sherwood Press Group uses the latest Shuttleworth JDF to improve workflow efficiencies

Tuesday 11. December 2012 - The Sherwood Press Group has a philosophy of keeping things simple, this is reflected throughout the entire production process and Sherwood's development strategy to utilise the very latest technologies is no exception.

Working with Shuttleworth Business Systems, Sherwood has been able to remove as much of the administrative cost and time out of the process of producing printing work with the introduction of state-of-the-art Job Definition Format (JDF).
Richard Hawker, Repro Supervisor at The Sherwood Press Group said “Using the JDF links from Shuttleworth to our Kodak Prinergy system in repro, provides us with a truly automated workflow and we have seen immediate benefits through streamlining the workflow process from the customer service team through to pre-press.”
Richard goes on to explain “Adding JDF links to our Press management software has given The Shuttleworth System the power to talk to the press with real time job information. We can automate further into the business making us more efficient and saving valuable time.”
Richard explains, “we create a job in Shuttleworth which then produces a JDF file in the background which is sent off to the Kodak Prinergy system. When the JDF file reaches Prinergy, it automatically creates a new job with an imposition in place ready to be populated with artwork by the repro operator. Speed, accuracy and consistency are dramatically improved. JMF is the next logical stage for us here at The Sherwood Press Group, giving us information rich data back from the shop floor so we can monitor our key performance indicators even closer than before and see how each job performed in order to help future estimating and job production.”
“Our Workflow is really delivering savings to The Sherwood Press Group helping us to build a better business and remain as simple and efficient as possible – ideals The Sherwood Press Group are proud deliver”, concluded Richard.
