Pixartprinting invests in small-format digital printing purchasing four new HP Indigo 7600
Monday 19. November 2012 - ?After making significant investments in offset printing, Pixartprinting signs a new agreement with HP to enhance the rolling stock dedicated to small-format digital printing. Six out of the ten HP Indigo 7000 currently up and running will be replaced by four new Hp Indigo 7600 that will support as many 7500 already installed. Very soon the HP Indigo 7500 presses will be upgraded with the last features launched during Drupa 2012.
“Offset printing allowed us to be highly competitive for certain jobs,” explains Matteo Rigamonti, President of Pixartprinting, “but there are other jobs where digital printing is irreplaceable. For this reason that we decided to renew our preference about HP, our technological partner for small-format digital printing, signing an agreement that we have defined a “bridge” that will take us to an even more ambitious goal, the installation of the new HP Indigo 10000. This system is not yet available, but on paper seems to be extremely attractive because of a very high production capacity, thanks also to the wider 50x70cm format.”
The Venetian web-to-print company, which among its strengths includes its willingness and ability to invest in next generation systems, renew therefore its confidence in HP for small and medium runs in small-format. “Indeed, when printing multiple sheets for catalogs and books bound staple, or sewn binding and pasted in small and medium runs,” says Alessandro Tenderini, general manager of Pixartprinting, “digital technology continues to be competitive versus offset printing. The latter, on the contrary, it’s very competitive in single foliation for medium and large print runs. One of the main plus of the HP Indigo 7600 presses is undoubtedly the Automatic Alert Agent that is very important for a company like ours, which pays close attention to the printing process control, with the aim to provide customers with quality excellence and fast delivery.” The Automatic Alert Agent, which is equipped with the HP Indigo 7600, is an automatic control system that detects and alerts the operator of any differences between the digital file and the printed sheet from the press. Quality control is then fully automated and production times are optimized so to avoid products waste and to deliver imperfect prints to end users.
