Favini receives LUXE PACK in GREEN Award for CRUSH Paper at Luxe Pack Monaco
Monday 29. October 2012 - Favini, the Italian paper manufacturer, received the LUXE PACK in GREEN award during LUXE PACK MONACO this week for its CRUSH paper line. CRUSH is a new eco-friendly range of papers made using process residues from organic products to replace up to 15 percent of virgin tree pulp.
By-products from citrus fruits, corn coffee, kiwi fruits, hazelnuts and almonds, which would normally be processed as fillers in animal food and fertilizers or simply dumped as landfill, are among the natural materials used. Elements of each different material are visible on the surface of the paper giving it a distinctive texture and appearance.
The LUXE PACK in GREEN Award is attributed to the company presenting the most innovative environmentally friendly packaging solution. An esteemed jury reviews the entries and selects the winner based on a charter pointing out materials, new and efficient processes and technologies and other sustainable criteria. Entries are displayed in the Innovation Forum at LUXE PACK MONACO.
The five finalists were PAPETERIE ZUBER REIDER for Bagasse, COSFIBEL for Corrugated Fan Tray, PROMENS for Bonne Mère Bottle, AIROPACK for Airopack Generation 2, and FAVINI.
The 2012 jury were Michel Fontaine, President of the French Packaging Council; Cécile Lochard, Founder Citizen Luxury; Michel Dupuis, Senior Vice President Purchasing & Packaging Development, Chanel Parfums Beaute; Sandrine Sommer, Sustainable Development Director, Guerlain and Ute Von Buch, Editor in Chief, Creativ Verpacken Magazine.
The original LUXE PACK in GREEN trophy was created by the design agency ANHA.
