Industry leaders reaffirm
Wednesday 25. July 2012 - PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL's status as unrivalled business platform in Thailand
PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL 2013 (PPI), to take place from 28 to 31 August in Bangkok, is gearing up to once again offer the Thai and regional marketplace an excellent sourcing and buying opportunity. Organizers Messe Düsseldorf Asia, The Thai Packaging Association and The Thai Printing Association are expecting some 250 market leaders and innovative small enterprises to showcase cutting-edge solutions, energy efficient machinery, processes and new technology for the printing and packaging sectors.
Beattrice Ho, Senior Project Manager, Messe Düsseldorf Asia said: “PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL is well entrenched in the packaging and printing exhibition calendar. It draws leading manufacturers, suppliers and distributors and is a must-attend showcase for the Southeast Asian market, offering plenty of business and networking opportunities.”
Making an interim estimation, the organizers see PPI setting a new record at its fourth edition. “Following the great success last year, we are thrilled that leading market players are already coming forth to reserve their booth space more than one year ahead of the next PPI,” said Beattrice Ho.
The list of companies keen to share their industry knowledge and expertise at PPI reads like the who’s who in the packaging and printing sectors: Heidelberg Graphics with their partner Ricoh, Nationwide, Fuji Xerox, Advanced Business Solutions And Services, PMC Label, Müller Martini, C.G.S., Ferrostaal, Riso, Sanxin Printing Machine Material, Canon, Hewlett Packard, and also first time exhibitor Böttcher Systems.
Beattrice Ho adds: “At PPI 2011 exhibitors determined that it was indeed an ideal platform for their business and the best place to increase awareness, close sales deals and gain market presence in Thailand. Hence it comes as no surprise that these exhibitors want to reserve the best locations for the next edition. Their early commitment also comes after many trendsetting impulses that were launched at drupa 2012 and some of these will be featured at PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL 2013.”
The opportunities presented by Thailand’s packaging and printing market remain an attraction for machinery manufacturers. Thailand is currently home to some 500 publishing houses, 5,000 printing and 10,000 packaging companies, and is increasingly viewed as Southeast Asia’s printing and packaging hub.
Neighbouring countries Indonesia and Vietnam show similar trends with a flourishing printing, food processing and packaging sector. Malaysia is projected to become a key food and production base in the region with particular emphasis on halal foods, while Cambodia shows strong growth with the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) along the borders with Thailand and Vietnam with several packaging and printing companies setting up at the Goldfame Pak Shun SEZ.
PPI 2013 comes at a time when the ASEAN region is teeming with business opportunities for the printing and packaging industries, whether sourcing for new supplies, adding to existing inventory or to firm up purchasing commitments, the exhibition will feature a range of technology, applications, solutions and machinery serving the entire supply chain:
