Clear Channel Spectacolor and Photo-Journalist David Burnett Pay Tribute to Legendary Singer Bob Marley in Times Square
Monday 16. July 2012 - Today, Clear Channel Spectacolor announced an agreement with world-renowned photographer David Burnett that pays tribute to legendary reggae icon Bob Marley in New York City's Times Square. From July 12th - 31st, photographs from David Burnett's published work, "One on One", a four-minute visual pictorial of Bob Marley, will be displayed hourly to spectators in Times Square on Clear Channel Spectacolor video screens.
The Spectacolor screens showing the tribute are located at Duffy Square in the heart of Times Square above the marquee entrance to the Times Square Visitors’ Center and on the corner of Broadway and W. 47th St.
David Burnett, acknowledged as one of the world’s most influential and respected photojournalists, was able to capture Marley’s life at home and on the road in the early 70’s in a series of photographs that have become iconic.
“Bob Marley is a heroic figure and mythical to many, and his music, poetry and philosophy have left a tremendous impression on me — and the entire world,” said Burnett; “These photographs are very special to me, and I am excited to share them with millions of people through Clear Channel’s summer program in Times Square.”
