Want to Know What Environmental Impact Your Project Will Make?
Wednesday 11. July 2012 - Are you getting ready to produce your next project and wondering how you can make it as environmentally conscious as possible?
Mohawk has the papers and tools that can guide you along the green path to sustainability.
Specifying paper
When getting ready to specify the paper that you’ll print on, consider ways to reduce the environmental impact of your project. Mohawk’s Paper Selector and Envelope Selector let you search Mohawk’s products by environmental attribute to ensure the paper you are choosing covers the checklist for creating the greatest environmental savings:
Choose paper made with 100% postconsumer waste fiber
Choose FSC certified papers
Choose papers made with windpower
Choose carbon neutral papers
Mohawk Loop
Mohawk makes it easy to choose. Mohawk Loop is a complete collection of extremely high PCW recycled papers with a range of print surfaces and shades of whites, pastels, jewel tones and earthy fibered shades. Mohawk Loop is truly a one-stop shop for environmental papers to support sustainable design.
Measure the impact
Mohawk’s Environmental Calculator measures the positive impacts of using recycled papers and/or carbon neutral papers. Insert a few project and paper specifications and the calculator will show you how your decisions can make a measurable difference to the environment. Download the calculator and keep it on your desktop for an easy way to calculate the environmental impact of every project you work on.
Share your savings
By communicating your efforts you can encourage others to follow suit. Find a spot on your project to print the environmental saving you’ve created, and share the knowledge that making sustainable choices really does make an impact. Mohawk’s Featured Projects section shares inspired stories of customers, such as Herman Miller and Mitsubishi, who practice responsible design.
Environmental logos
If you’re printing on one of Mohawk’s environmental papers, Mohawk grants permission to use its Environmental Calculator icons, and carbon neutral, windpower and recycled logos. Request permission to use Mohawk’s logos, as well as third-party logos such as Green-e, FSC, and Green Seal.
