MIRAFLEX CL 10
Monday 28. May 2012 - With almost 200 presses in operation, the MIRAFLEX range of flexographic presses from German machine manufacturer, Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H), is the most successful in the world today. At drupa2012, W&H will introduce the new MIRAFLEX CL as a 10-color press running at speeds of 600 m/min. This new machine, like the MIRAFLEX CL 8, was designed for wide-web flexible packaging.
The MIRAFLEX CL 10 addresses the needs of the steadily growing wide-web package printing market with a maximum repeat length of 1.130 mm (44″). It is anticipated that transport- and secondary packaging, e.g. for beverages and hygiene products, will also have higher-quality designs. This is equally true for flexible packaging in industrial sectors, including construction materials, chemical products and animal feed.
At drupa, demonstrations of the MIRAFLEX CL 10 printing at 600 m/min will be given throughout the day. This speed is now available for the entire MIRAFLEX C range.
To reach the 20% increased print speed, the MIRAFLEX is equipped with the high-performance drive technology and highly efficient between color deck and bridge drying systems as well as the new generation TURBOCLEAN inking and wash-up system that is being launched at drupa (see Press Release 9’12). During the demonstration, a job change-over using the EASY automation modules will be shown while the press in running.
In a dramatically changing world, the designs and sizes of flexible packaging are becoming more and more colorful and diverse. Yet at the same time, there is a trend to run smaller and smaller jobs that need to be produced as economically as larger jobs.
W&H’s answer to these market demands is the MIRAFLEX press range, designed for the highest quality printing of flexible packaging. The range combines both W&H expertise from the design and production of hundreds of direct-drive sleeve CI presses with its intimate knowledge of machine operation, sleeve handling and ink and substrates logistics.
MIRAFLEX presses are available as AM, CM, AL and CL models with either 8 or 10 colors. This product portfolio meets more than 90% of demands on performance, print width and repeat lengths in today’s flexible packaging market. Easy operation, excellent efficiency and extensive automation options make the MIRAFLEX an exceptionally economical flexographic printing press.
