Chemtura Describes Further Investment in Brazil and Additive Innovations at Brasilplast 2011

May 2011 - Chemtura Corporation (NYSE: CHMT) announces it will present new additive innovations within its extensive line of antioxidants,UV stabilizers, polymer modifiers, flame retardants and organometallics for plastics and describe the investments it is making in Brazil and emerging markets at Brasilplast, Sao Paulo, 9-13 May 2011.

Visitors to Chemtura’s booth at Brasilplast will learn more about Chemtura’s investments in technology, innovation and production capabilities. Recently, Chemtura’s Petroleum Additives division expanded the production capability of their stabilizers in Rio Claro, Brazil. The specialty chemicals company is evaluating plans to make further investments in Brazil and the Latin American region to capitalize on the strong projected economic growth in the region. Brazil posted a GDP growth of 7.5 percent in 2010.
Chemtura’s Antioxidants & UV Stabilizers business will continue to confirm its commitment to the industry through innovation, growth and further investment. In response to customer demand for cost-effective, greener and customized dust-free additive solutions, the innovative WESTON Liquid Productivity Platform has been created and the company’s proprietary Non-Dust Blend (NDB) technology further developed.
Expansions to WESTON 705 antioxidant, a member of the Liquid Productivity Platform, will be highlighted at Brasilplast, together with the complementary additions of liquid phenolics and blends to the range. A portfolio incorporating liquids, NDBs and powders provides customers with a broader range of stabilization solutions and greater operational flexibility than ever.
Other new solutions to be highlighted will include a new POLYBOND 3149 polymer modifier, which offers improved mechanical performance for wire and cable as well as wood-composite applications. DURAZONE 37 is a nonstaining antiozonant that offers superior static ozone protection, excellent dynamic protection and excellent antioxidant protection.
