* The EU directive (67/548/EEC) regarding classification, packaging, and
labeling of hazardous substances identifies cobalt chloride as
a hazardous substance subject to the reporting requirement.
* Also, in Japan, the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register Act (PRTR)
(requires businesses handling chemical substances potentially
hazardous to the environment to estimate what chemical substances,
from what kind of sources, and how much chemical substances are
released to the environment, or the amount of chemical substances
that are transferred in waste to outside the businesses site, and
aggregate and make available the findings to the public) identifies
cobalt chloride as one of chemical substances subject to the reporting
requirement.
* EU directives require any product containing 0.01wt% or more cobalt chloride
to be labeled with the skull-and-crossbones marking and a warning statement.
