Edipresses 2010 figures are back in the black
Friday 08. April 2011 - The 2010 results in brief:
– Net income for the 2010 financial year amounts to CHF 30.6 million (after a loss of 32 million in 2009)
– The strategy put in place since 2009 confirms its positive impact
– Finalization in 2011 of the Swiss businesss merger with Tamedia.
After a 2009 transition year, Edipresses figures, as forecasted, are back in the black in 2010 with a net profit of CHF 30.6 million. This positive result follows a loss of CHF 32 million in 2009.
All business indicators increase in 2010:
– The Groups turnover (outside the Swiss operation with Tamedia) stands at CHF 180.2 million (+ 1 % compared to 2009)
– Operating margin (EBITDA) rises to CHF 12.2 million (CHF 55,000 in 2009)
– Net debt was drastically reduced, going from CHF 166.3 million in 2009 to CHF 2 million in 2010.
The strategy set up since 2009 has thus borne fruit. Edipresse is focusing its operational activities on magazines (Eastern Europe, Asia, Switzerland) and on real estate. Besides, the company intends to develop its existing websites and to acquire new ones. Edipresse has launched in 2010 a Chinese version (worldtempus.cn) of the watchmaking website, worldtempus.com.
In Switzerland, the Swiss businesss merger with Tamedia will be finalized in 2011 already (although it was initially scheduled at the end of 2012). A separate Edipresse and Tamedia joint press release is distributed today regarding this news.
