Dai Nippon Printing: Impact of the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake
Monday 28. March 2011 - We at Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) would like to express our deepest sympathy for those affected by the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake.
We have convened our Central Disaster Prevention Council, which we previously established to enable a swift response in the event of disaster, and are working to gather information and respond appropriately.
We sincerely hope for a quick recovery in the areas affected by this earthquake.
The DNP Group?s current information about the disaster situation is provided below.
1. Employees and their families
We have confirmed that all DNP Group employees in affected areas are safe and sound. We are continuing our efforts to confirm the safety of their families and gather further information.
2. Physical damage
Tohoku-based DNP Tohoku Co., Ltd. (Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture) and DNP Fine Chemicals Fukushima Co., Ltd. (Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture) have suspended operations as result of damage to some buildings and equipment caused by the earthquake.
At other business facilities, we are preparing to resume operations while monitoring the restoration of water services and other infrastructure.
The DNP Group is making a full effort to restore damaged buildings and equipment with the aim of quickly resuming operations to avoid causing any inconvenience to parties concerned.
3. Earnings impact
We are currently evaluating the financial damage caused by the earthquake and will make prompt disclosure if we expect earnings of the DNP Group to be affected.
