Factory design leads to shorter production times
Monday 21. March 2011 - MTC Insulation Solutions has been awarded the second phase of a £2m project thanks to its initial factory design leading to shorter production times for a contract packing company.
Design and build specialists, MTC Insulation Solutions, originally built a 5574 m2
factory in August 2010 for Wasdell Packaging – contract packers for companies in the Pharmaceutical, Nutraceuticaland Healthcare markets.
The A+ BRE Green Guide rated factory exceeds Good Manufacturing Practise (GMP) and has proven such a success, the company has now moved into 24-hour-a -day working and requires a new clean room.
The second phase sees MTC Insulation Solutions fitting out a 800 square metre clean room including seven production lines, highly insulated walls, ceilings, a mezzanine extension and ventilation work to prevent over-cooling within the plant.
The £500,000 project is expected to complete in early May and will increase Wasdell Packagings capacity by a further 75%.
Geoff Daren, Commercial Director for MTC Insulation Solutions, says; “We are delighted to have been awarded the second phase of this project.
The plant was specifically designed to allow future expansion and were pleased Wasdell Packaging has grown so quickly and is now working 24 hours a day, 5 days a week with plans to introduce weekend shifts.”
This is also a busy period for MTC Insulation Solutions who is completing a £500,000 bakery at the end of March for Perfection Foods – a cake manufacturing company who bakes for national brands including Asda and Morrisons.
