DuPont Teijin Films Consolidates U.S. Production of PET Film

Monday 07. March 2011 - Teijin Limited announced that DuPont Teijin Films, a global joint venture partnership with E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., has consolidated U.S.-based production of PET film at its plant in Hopewell, Virginia, completing the restructuring of its U.S. and European operations that started in 2009.

The restructuring was completed with the recent permanent closure of a PET film production plant in Florence, South Carolina, where operations had been gradually phased out since 2009. The company also closed a general-purpose film plant in Circleville, Ohio in February 2009 and one line at a Luxembourg plant in June 2009.
The Hopewell plant’s advanced technical capabilities and high productivity will enable DuPont Teijin Films to fully meet needs in electronics, healthcare and other industries, including emerging markets for green technologies such as photovoltaics.
DuPont Teijin Films will continue to offer customers a full range of solutions by leveraging its global production network, including film processing in its Spruance plant in Richmond, Virginia and film production at bases outside the United States.
Operating in six countries, DuPont Teijin Films offers a wide range of PET films for applications such as flat-panel displays and other electronics, photovoltaics, data storage, packaging and healthcare.
