Aleyant Adds Variable QR Code Generator to eDoc Builder

Thursday 03. March 2011 - Company Also Offers Free Vector CMYK QR Code Generator as Use of Popular Tool Increases for Web-to-Print Campaigns

Aleyant Systems, a leader in value-priced web-to-print solutions for the graphic communications industry, today announces that a variable QR Code generator as been added to eDoc Builder, a web-based variable data publishing (VDP) system. QR Codes are two dimensional barcodes that are popular in various print marketing campaigns. Users with a camera phone can scan QR Code images, which then opens a web page in the phone’s browser, connects to a wireless network, or displays text, such as the creator’s contact information or vcard. The variable QR Code generator can be merged with a database, and allows printers to personalize web-to-print campaigns for their customers.
Aleyant is also providing a free, non-variable QR Code generating tool, which is available to anyone that wishes to offer this capability. Aleyant encourages visitors to take advantage of this emerging marketing tool, which will be of value to its storefront customers. The QR Code generator is available on Pressero’s website.
“As the use of QR Codes increases in print marketing campaigns, we wanted to make it easy for printers to offer this feature to their customers,” comments Greg Salzman, president of Aleyant Systems. “This valuable tool will become more prevalent in direct mail, business cards, magazines, on signs and buses.”
Aleyant’s QR Code generator can create vector-based QR Codes using vector CMYK colors, which are delivered in PDF, EPS, and TIF (300 dpi) formats. Users can also specify a spot color name (such as a Pantone color) and it will be referenced in the PDF. To obtain a QR Code, visitors to Pressero’s website simply enter their name, email address and QR Code text. Within minutes, the QR Code is emailed. Anyone can also post a free, print-ready QR Code generator to their websites or their customers’ storefronts. Visit the Pressero website to access the HTML.
