Mimaki adds new clear ink to its LH-100 hard UV ink

Wednesday 16. February 2011 - Mimaki Engineering Co. Ltd. (President: Mikio Noguchi; Headquarters: Nagano, Japan) is pleased to announce that clear ink has been added to its family of LH-100 hard UV inks for UJF-3042, JFX plus series and JFX series of UV LED curable ink inkjet printers. The clear ink is expected to be available in February 2011.

Clear ink enables effects such as “Glossy” or “Matte Finish” thus adding value to the printed product. It enables effects closely resembling “Varnish Coating” with offset and screen printing presses. Furthermore, the clear ink can be layered multiple times so that images may not only look more enticing, but also create a strong desire to touch the image.
The new clear ink decisively increases opportunities for print service providers by adding more value to their offerings and consequently increase their revenues.

Customers who have one of the existing products listed above will need to implement the following upgrade procedures in order to be able to use clear ink. Please contact a Mimaki service engineer or an authorized Mimaki reseller for further details.
• Update the firmware of the printer
• Update the RIP software (RasterLinkPro5)
• Replace some necessary parts (for UJF-3042 only)
