Digital Vision Acquires Image Systems

Friday 07. January 2011 - The Board of Directors of Digital Vision (STO:DV) announced acquisition of Image Systems, a major player in motion analysis and film-scanning within the archive, restoration, defense and automotive industries.

The acquisition increases Digital Vision’s stronghold in postproduction and restoration markets, creating new opportunities for growth in markets currently serviced by Image Systems. The acquisition is subject to approval at an additional shareholder meeting.
With offices in major cities around the globe, Digital Vision is a world-leader in grading and restoration solutions used in the creation and enhancement of images for customers including Pixar, Lucasfilm, WarnerBros., Technicolor, HBO, and BBC.
“The acquisition of Image Systems is a logical, strategic step in Digital Vision’s development,” states Bengt Broman, current Digital Vision CEO. “We now have more scope to meet the growing demands of the media industry for creative solutions and services. The forces driving industry transition are extensive and this acquisition significantly increases our presence.”
At the end of Q1 2011, Mikael Jacobsson, Image Systems’ second largest shareholder, will step in as CEO. He played a leading role in developing Image Systems, and has extensive experience in senior operational positions in global software companies, stock-listed companies and venture capitals.
“I look forward to leading the new merged company, which faces an exciting future in an industry with continually evolving technology,” says Jacobsson.
